Allison C. McMillen
Allison C. McMillen is proud to be a second-generation plaintiffs’ attorney representing victims of medical malpractice, having practiced with her father, attorney Scott R. McMillen, for over a decade before joining the team at Faiella & Gulden, P.A. Ms. McMillen received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish from Middlebury College in 2002 and a Juris Doctorate magna cum laude from the University of Miami School of Law in 2007.
In addition to representing plaintiffs in medical malpractice cases for over fifteen years, Ms. McMillen has also represented dozens of families in connection with cases under Florida’s Birth-Related Neurological Injury Compensation Association (NICA) laws, helping them obtain NICA benefits or, depending on circumstances, a ruling that NICA does not apply so that a medical malpractice case can be pursued.
Ms. McMillen has served as a director of the board of the Florida Justice Association, as an officer of the FJA’s Women’s Caucus, and was the second woman to be President of The Central Florida Trial Lawyers Association. She co-authored a chapter on Florida’s Neurological Injury Compensation Association (NICA) in the Florida Medical Malpractice Handbook, Second Edition, which was published by the Florida Bar. Ms. McMillen also served on the Florida Bar Civil Procedure and Rules Committee, as well as on the Editorial Board of the Florida Bar News and Journal. She gives back to the community by serving as a Guardian Ad Litem for dependent children, among other pro bono work.
In her free time, Ms. McMillen enjoys reading, aerial arts, and spending time with her rescue pug mix.
